The European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA) is pleased to announce that Kristin Kahl, co-managing Director of Contargo Truck Fleet GmbH & Co. KG, has been re-elected as the spokesperson for a one-year term. Kahl, who has played a key role in advancing the alliance’s mission, will continue to lead ECTA’s efforts to promote sustainable transformation in the trucking industry towards zero-emission trucking.

“ECTA is a great forum to bring together relevant topics from practice and elevate them to discussions with policymakers and industry peers. As we move towards transforming our fleet to BEV, it is essential to create the right conditions and foster a deep understanding of the challenges we face, especially within political circles. What looks great on paper often turns out to be difficult to implement in practice,” Kahl said.

Kahl’s experience, particularly in transitioning Contargo’s fleet to Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), positions her as a strong advocate for real-world solutions. As spokesperson, she will focus on fostering collaboration, engaging policymakers, and addressing the challenges of the industry’s shift to cleaner technologies.

“My goal is to promote a practical and collaborative approach, ensuring that our alliance speaks from real-world experience. We need to show policymakers what is possible, what isn’t, and how we can achieve a successful transition together. By facilitating dialogue between shippers, logistic companies, and drivers, we can navigate the transformation as one. The more we collaborate and share best practices, the closer we get to a sustainable future for our industry,” she added.

In her next term, Kahl will work to strengthen ECTA’s relationships with stakeholders and policymakers, aiming to accelerate zero-emission trucking across Europe.
